Overview
Janis uses her strong technical background to assist ECG clients with systems solutions. She has significant experience with SCT Banner and was one of the leading members of the SCT Banner implementation team at Drake University.
In her recent engagement work, Janis gained expertise using EDExpress and EDConnect to support ECG clients. She has also worked with Excelsius, a tool for developing dashboards, and she used Microsoft Access to develop database systems to improve internal company processes.
Key Experience and Skills
Janis's information technology (IT) experience in the private and public business sectors includes project management, testing coordination, and system design and development. At Drake University, she was the assistant director of student financial planning-technical, providing overall technical support to the financial aid office. Her responsibilities included support for financial aid document tracking and awarding; importing and exporting EDE transmissions; and managing the installation and testing of Banner releases.
Highlights of Accomplishments
Since joining ECG in 2007, Janis has completed several key Banner projects for ECG clients:
| • | Conducted a workflow and system assessment, and developed recommendations to improve setup and processes. |
| • | Set up C code processing with customized letter messages for several institutions, including instructions for yearly maintenance. |
| • | Researched and resolved issues with tracking group rules. |
| • | Automated tracking letters and set up subsequent letter processing. |
| • | Trained users on Banner loan application processing. |
| • | Set up intuitive budget groups that use previous enrollment levels to predict future enrollment; and coordinated SAP setup. |
| • | Created report development specifications for IT development to be used for management reporting, IPEDS, auditors, etc. |
She has also provided additional technical and functional consulting support for ECG engagement work.
